Default Best Location for a center Channel Speaker

I will be starting a new project soon. Depending on the answer I receive here will depend on how I proceed with my project. Is it best to place the center channel speaker above, below, or another location in comparison to the TV?

    Well you want 2 things-

    1. Close to the screen, this is because that is where the sound is supposed to coming from.

    2. At or near the level of your ears when sitting (or listening).

So if your screen is up on the wall perhaps the speaker should be below (or even behind if you have a projection screen) the screen. If you have a TV on the floor the speaker might be better placed above it. I think in general a speaker placed higher will project farther in the room.
