    Default subwoofer help

i got a couple of sub woofers from a friend. he gave them to me....i kind of blew them off as car stuff, but i got to looking at them today and they seem pretty interesting! XSITE XS1050 10" subs. they look to have huge manets and rigid cones. heavy frames and dual 4ohm voice coils. but....we got a new computer this year and the wife did not bother to reload my software to figure a box size. can someone give me an idea if these are worth messing with in a home system?? i and thinking of buying a couple of the dayton SA240b sub amps with the bass boost at 30hz. the parameters are as follows. FO(HZ)29 Qms 4.1 Qes 0.38 Qts 0.34 Vas(cubic feet) 1.7 I appreciate it if you take the time to give me your input or ideas on this. I would like to know what the sealed cab size would be as well as the ported. probably leaning toward sealed.......are those amps stable down to 2 ohms if i parallel the voice coils?? the manual that came with the speaks says they have an f3 of 38hz in a 1.06 cf sealed cabinet but that seems pretty small to me. they have dual 4 ohm coils....and they were free, best of all!

Something strange is going on when I model it in WinISD.

I put in FS of 29 (is that even right)? and got some weird results. Someone please remind me of the difference between F0 and FS again. I usually only use FS and F3.

Anyways I'm getting a .88 cu foot vented box.

Low vas and low qts point towards vented or passive radiator. I get a volume of 1.15 cu tuned for 32 hz if you port. It needs a long port in a small box. Best for passive radiator. You will blow that amp up if you parallel the subs. I

thanks for the reply....i sincerely appreciate your help. I wasn't going to parallel the subs. i was going to run one of the dayton sub amps on each woofer (two woofs and two amps). they have dual 4ohm voice coils. i know if i parallel the coils i get a load of 2 ohms, series gives me 8 ohms. so i was wondering if the amp would do 2 ohms o.k. probably not....how long of a port did you come up with?? gee....i was really wanting to go with a sealed cabinet and it doesn't look to be o.k.
