Default Air volume wasted by the driver itself?

Hello! Anyone have a rule of thumb for estimating the air space wasted by the driver itself in an enclosure? I know it depens on the driver itself, but approx? In my application, a hefty 15 inches, namely a Dayton Reference!

    Thanks!

If you're using formulas from the LDC, you're on the right track. If you're using WinISD, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless your driver and port together take up more than about 10% of your box volume. If you're using formulas from David Weems' book, he purposely overvolumes and undertunes his boxes a bit to compensate for space taken up by drivers, ports, and braces. And I know I didn't actually answer your question.

not sure that "wasted" is the correct word though.
    "used" would be more appropriate.

its not wasted volume, because the driver is using it. and without the driver, things just wouldn't work too well. ;-))

I don't think you've had too much to worry about with your past few projects. If they don't have enclosures, you really don't need to worry about it
