Is it best on LR4 to shift freq on one driver?

Does it improve the sound in an LR4 crossover to use different Xover frequencies on the midrange and tweeter to create more overlap between the drivers to reduce the typical 6db droop at the Xover frequency? For example a LR4 at 3Khz might be implemented with a low pass 3KHz on the midrange and a 2.x KHz high pass on the tweeter. Does setting two different Xover frequencies cause more phase issue problems which out weight the reduced Xover droop?

With LR4 crossovers, the on-axis sum is a flat response, no droops involved.
