    Default Help


    I have a Ma Audio 802sx, (4400 rms) amp and a sony 110rms x4 amp and i would like to power them up and run them in my house. I know i need a AC to 12V DC power converter. But what one would be best and if not one then how many would i need. Please help

    It depends on how many amps they draw, what size fuse do they require? add the amperage of the fuses and a couple more for good measure and find a power supply that can put out that much power.

    You could probably use a power supply at about 15 to 20 amps depending on how loud you play them.

    Would a 20 amp power both amps and a head unit?

    If you check out the fuse rating on your amps and add them all up and they don't go over 20 amps.... yes but chances are no.

    If you are running at full power on the amps alone (which you probably won't be using over 4 thousand watts unless you are blatantly stupid and don't like your hearing) you would be pulling 400 ampres.

    Power(in watts)=Voltage(volts)*Current(ampres)

    The most power you can get out of a 20 ampere 12 volt supply would be 240 watts.
