OK so if I built a small sub for my Flat panel *PIC*

Provided Link: Dayton 25 watt amp
ok so if I were to built a little subwoofer for use with my flat panel in my exercise room, the room is only 11 x 12, so I dont need very much power, nor do I need that deep bass so I would like to build something pretty small that I can hide under a bench or behind a cabinet.
How about using Dayton's 25W sub amp on sale for $32, and then either the Tang Band 5 " or 5 1/4 inch woofer ($18 or $19). I kinda think I prefer the $19 264-831, but is there reason to go with
264-826 I'm open to suggestions, or perhaps another small sub

That gets my parts cost at about the target $50 I was thinking of.
Has anyone built one here using these parts or something similar?
I need to check PE recommended box dimensions on these but if anyone has thoughts let me know. I have some scrap pieces of MDF in my shop I'm hoping I can use but Lowes and Home Depot are right down the street.
I'm hoping to attach this to the flat panel TV via the fixed audio output terminal on back and then be able to use either the panels built in speakers or the little T amp and RCA speakers for the upper octaves.
Can anybody think of any other parts I would need to build this from PE that I should include in my PE order? I have lots of hardware for building the box. This looks like a fun and easy project. I'm thinking of MDF box with an 8 inch square ceramic tile for the top. Should I face the woofer forward or downward? Port or not?

Provided Link: Cheap 5" sub driver
You might be interested in these woofers at Electronic Goldmine. $5 will get you a pair of them. Two in parallel will give you 4 ohms, which will help get a little more output from that 25W amp and provide more surface area.
Also, click on the link for the version with the plastic cabinet, which is on sale for $6

Ooops...that's $5 each when bought in pairs. Still, looks like a well-made driver for $5 and shipping costs are reasonable at this place

Try the 1339 and the 70W plate

Re:
Guys, the problem here is
1. I would like something quite compact, that is almost invisible. Translated, 1/2 cubic ft or even less. The TB allows me that box size, even vented.
2. The shape may end up being other than a cube.
3. If I use 2 drivers, I will likely need a box size bigger than for just one.
4. The T-amp is low wattage, but I dont want a sub that overpowers it. Hence the interest in the 25 watt amp and the comparatively low efficiency driver.
5. I have a high-volume setup in the Sunroom with a 12 inch sub and I'm not looking to duplicate that.
6. I am in KY
7 I really wanted to keep this really simple, just add a little more deep bass to the RCA's
Part I'm stumped on: The PE catalog says the TB driver needs two two inch ports each 8 inches long. Is that realistic?

If you're looking for a small setup and you have no intentions of high SPLs, you can stuff the 5 1/4" TB sub into a tiny enclosure (.1 cube), and when combined with an 80hz hihg pass filter on the sub amp, you'll wind up with a response of roughly 35-100hz. The only caveat is that you'll reach a maximum of about 95dB SPL with 70 watts, so it's not going to be a wall shaker, but for a computer or a bedroom system, it should be adequate, and will be very small. I've modeled this in Jeff B's subwoofer design spreadsheet and it looks promising.

I think you mean LowPass.

The 70W is more than thermal power, so watch the volume. If you build the "Triumph" sub on my website, it will do 38-40Hz F3, and be quite efficient. This is an especially good combo for use with the KG3100.
