Thread: Power Supply??

    Default Power Supply??


    My car amp is blown Rockford Punch 45, the repair guy said it was my Power supply and will cost me 80.00 to fix, can i replace this my self? and where can i get the parts??

    You probably wouldn't actually replace the entire "power supply" itself, because it not usually a separate part/unit. More likely it is a section of circuitry which is integrated into, or part of the entire amplifier.

    Repair is usually quite easy if you know how to solder. Diagnosing the problem is the more difficult thing. You would have to know how to read a schematic and then own or have access to electronic test equipment.

    You have to know which components/parts are blown/burned/dead before you can purchase replacements.
    Common parts such fuses, resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors are affordable and readily available in electronic parts stores and the internet.

    ...the fuses before you do anything. You never know when you're being scammed. Yes, I have trust issues :-)
