    Default $5/5" sub

    Provided Link: http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp

    I ordered four of these:

They came in yesterday. Anybody out there done any measurements? I'd be happy to send one to somebody, to keep for free, if they want to measure it.

I'm guessing these were originally made for some kind of factory automtive purpose. There are no markings at all. The VC appears to be 1" or 1 1/4", not 1 3/4" as stated.

I'm sure someone will take up your offer, in the meantime....

It lists the LF cutoff as 45hz, what do you plan to do with them?

Not sure yet. Depends on how they measure. Either as a sub in a small 2.1 setup for my work computer, or put several in a small box to use in my car when I need the room for something other than my regular sub.

Default I'd Say Definitely Automotive Use *PIC*

    Provided Link: The Housing

The housing sure likes like it anyway (link). It looks like a pretty decent speaker.

Yeah, that plastic box looks like it could go under a fenderwell cover in a hatchback, or maybe in a front console. Or, maybe in a big screen T.V.? Anyway, the driver does look fairly well made, especially for $5. It has a good size magnet, and a vented pole piece. The suspension feels pretty stiff. Xmax (based on the push the dustcap with the finger test) maybe 4-5mm or so.

    Default I'll test it...

I have a WT2, good for every measurement except Xmax and frequency response (fr can be calculated from the TS specs for subs though) for the most part. I can break it in for a day. I'd recommend testing two of them for consistency's sake. I'll pay you whatever you paid for a pair if you want to cover shipping. Let me know...

    Thanks,
    Aaron

I'm using a couple in the backyard. They're not really "subs" but the do round out the bass of my 4" satellites

Thanks Zeek, saved me a trip out to the garage to dig through some stuff.
