Anyone tried them?

those are closer to nsb's than 69's; 69's were not shielded...

Re: Return of 69¢ Wonders?
I don't know about the 69 cent wonders, but the NSBs had a rubber surround and were shielded, but they also had a cup over the magnets, you couldn't see them. Also, I think they were made by Pioneer, not sure though.

I also recall the wonders being made by Pioneer. They do look just like them from the front, though. That brought back some memories :-)

They did have a "donut" bucking magnet, just like pictured.

Indeed, and the their hole pattern is identical, down to the orientation to the voice coil tinsels, and relative sizes.
The specs from Madisound:
Fs 96Hz, Vas 3.8 liters, Re 7.4 ohm, 87dB, Qts 0.72, Le@1kHz 0.28
The spec's from Ratch's site:
Fs 108, Vas 3.02 liters, Re 7.83 ohm, Qts .620
Le = .300
Very close, considering Ratch's numbers were measured, not published data. Does anyone have the orignal published specs? From my notes at the time, fS = 118Hz, VAS = 0.11 cf (3.11 liters), QTS = 0.59
I will have some pics going up of a now-abused 69 cent wonder at my website www.minthesizer.com in a few minutes.

Uh, yeah they were. It's the same driver, now with more profit!

Re: Return of 69¢ Wonders?
Worth it for 69 cents. Worth it for 98 cents, which was also an earlier price at PE. I am not sure I would buy them at $3.50.
