Tax Rebate Bonanza?????
I was just wondering what everyone out here may do with their big pile of Government money to stimulate the Great AMERICAN ECONOMY? I think most people can expect a huge check in the amount of $350.00 - $600.00 too help revive the AMERICAN Economic CRISIS?
It sure would come in handy for a nice summer vacation at the beach by the sea where a hungry shark could take a bite out of you. Don't forget the deadly stingrays with that evil stinger that can do you in within a few minutes. Jellyfish can also put a nice sting on you, my younger brother learned from experience when one got between his legs and put him in extreme pain when hew was only about five year old.
Well maybe some time building some great DIY speakers would be a great way to put this tax Bonanza to use. Maybe Parts Express would chip in with a free shipping deal to help entice us into speaker building instead of a family vacation, hint, hint.
Let me hear what other plan's some of you may have, No paying boring BILLS. Think fun stuff...

By all means buy speakers!
But remember, according to my accountant this is your money which will come from your earings. It's a pre-bate from this year's earnings which you will be filing next year.

Is that Lake County in Florida, or one of them rust belt states that tax the hell out of property owners up north. I pay less than a thousand on property tax a year down here in Georgia in a $165,000.00 house. I've heard that some states rape their residents for several grand each year just for school tax.

Re: Tax Rebate Bonanza?????
with my big tax refund....
1) New Front Loading Washer
2) 3 pallets of sod
3) new laptop for my wife since hers just died
and save a little... yes, big refund... school expense, non-working wife, claiming 1 exemption... I knew I overpaid, but i like the refund (my non-interest earning savings account).
As for the $1200 stimulus checks = gas, food, and savings

Rust Belt is right. Northwest Indiana. The steel companies are owned by foreigners especially India.
Since the steel companies don't want to subsidize the tax base they went after the home owners. Last I heard 8 or 9000 people lost their home or property and this was not due to the mortgage crisis. What I don't understand is how a county next door without any large company can have a lower tax base than us???

You must live close to Gary, Indiana? My Dad said that was one of the most dismal polluted cities in the country when they used coal furnaces to make steel. He said all the building were covered with a filthy black soot that covered everything.
We drove through that area in 1986 on our way to the Mayo Clinic. We made a stop in Kalmazoo, Michigan to see my Grandfather one more time before he died. The poor guy didn't even remember who we were. His life was ruined by a DRUNK DRIVER before they had any laws to punish Drunk Drivers.
Usually a city or county that has big companies that employ many of the local residents, also have very low or even no property taxes. At least thats how it works in Georgia. I imagine a bunch of corrupt people can do whatever they want when it comes to taxes. Of course you have to put up with the smell of the largest paper/liner board mill in the world.
