I just finished wall mounting the dayton rss390hf-4 On wall. I am watching sweeny todd. I like the sound better. It is more stealth then before. I will need to use some layers of cork, rubber, felt to dampen and isolate the woofer vibes from the 2 by 4's. It took a long time. Only 1 space bewteen the studs was wide enough to use. Of course 2 plugs and an rf coax and the speaker wire were in that void and needed to be shifted. No pictures right now. I took about 15 and moved the camera so it would not get dusty now I lost it.LOL I will post some shots late. Vas you will like this I am running it with daryl's filter. sounds fine I will break out the test track on monday. I will say this much it is a nice clean look.

Speaking of Wall Resonances...
...I wonder if one could use a section of sonotube through the wall. Of course, that does nothing for front-to-back wall vibrations.
Congrats on finishing the mod, BTW!!

Hey Phil,
I had the luxury of having the option to build a better wall before I commensed on the HT project, which I did. What a difference it makes. I had the framing glued to the concrete block wall AND the sheetrock (in addition to fasteners). I also opted for 5/8" instead of 1/2" sheetrock. Obviously all the construction members form a solid, unified wall. Not a hint of vibration from my wall-mounted LCR speakers.

Toby I rebuilt this wall ten years ago when I did the home theater. It is solid, but will need some tuneup. Here are the first set of pictures. Mike sonotube would work. I will square frame this next week. enjoy the the picturs. and it sounds really good.

That is going to scare the living crap out of someone sitting on the couch. Seriously! You better warn them. Transformers could be painful to watch!
Building it big and playing it loud! Because we all know size really does matter, and a little over compensation never hurt anyone. :eek:Comment

Hey Phil,
Yup, I don't think you could duplicate that setup with bass shakers. Scary! I'm wondering, do you actually sit there on the "hot seat", or do you make poor, unsuspecting souls sit there, then turn on and turn up Telarc's 1812 Overture (the canon shots)? I thought so :-)
