Push down evenly on the cone a ways. Then do the same thing from the backside and push the cone out (even pressure, now). That'll get you within about 80% of the final break-in.

What do you need them broken in for? Measurement? Usually the T/S numbers move proportionately so that even if Vas, Fs & Qts change, they won't really alter the calculated box specs.

Or is it a tonality thing that you're not liking?

No , these are already playing in my little
TriTrixMTs downstairs , which are to be up here for Computer / DVD speakers as soon as I get a pair of speaker cables put together . I was just wondering when they would be operating " as well as they are ever going to " !! DAVID

Ah, then that depends on how hard you play them.:-)

Really, it's just about the suspension loosening up. If you've got a few hours of rockin' on them, they're probably as broken in as they're going to get.

Default Break-In Time Depends On Who You Are...

    Who Are You?....

Priest: If you believe, confess of your sins, and pray for driver break-in, it is miraculously instantaneous.

Engineer: You possess many mathematic formulae with which you must use to calculate the blah, blah, blah… they never fully “break in” because the math never ends.

Audiophile: They’re not broken in until your golden ears begin to glow and tears stream down your face.

Rocker: Dude, crank it up until they disintegrate. The “ultimate” break-in, man!!

    Default A day

95% of any driver's break in will take place within 24 hours if you use the usual proceedure with a sine wave generator. The other 5% takes years, if not decades, of use, obviously not something to be concerned with.

Ahhh, a Sine Wave Generator we do not have !
But , we DO have Ferde Grofe's " Sunrise " and
" Clodburst " fom the " Grand Canyon Suite " on
TELARC , and Mussorgsky's " The Great Gate of Kiev " from " Pictures at an Exhibition " with the Philadelphia Orchestra . Repeatedly . May do the job eventually !! David

Buddhist: If you sit and think about it, you may find it is YOU that needs to be broken in, not the driver... ;-)

Your beautiful Gainclone , of course ! That is the system I bought it for . I took it , the two speakers , and my AMC CD8b in to the college class
I'm teaching last night . Played it on break .
Needless to say , they were awestruck ! A bunch wanted to build their own ' Chip Amps " ! So , I gave them the standard Web - Sites . Put everything back last night while Dad , ( 100 years old , ++ ) was asleep . Saw the set - up for the first time this morning ! He is thrilled . DVW

    Default "Don't Try to Break-In..."

"...the driver. That's imposible. Just try to recognize the truth. There is no driver." [The Matrix - sort of]

Yeah I got a good deal on it I purchased broken and fixed it for about 2 or 3 dollars. It was a very nice DIY. I would say it was the best or second best gainclone I have seen of the DIY types. I passed the good price on to you. I have a five channel gainclone It is very close to the same in looks and quality. Phil
