    Default Paging Wolf: ND16 Question

Wolf: I am very nearly at the first measurement stage (in-box, no XO) for the FR125S/ND16 combo. I need to know if I can:

Knock the ND-16's in flush and be able to remove them again without damaging the tweeter or stripping the 1 1/4" hole.

    Cheers / Robert

    I wouldn't advise it.

Default Re: Paging Wolf: ND16 Question

I didn't want to, and so will just push it to just before "lock-in" and subtract 0.16cm of flight time from the tweeter measurement! It is so small that at the 3.5-4Khz XO point, it probably won't matter, except for plot prettiness. I might see some high HF ripple that I will ignore, too.

FR and ND16 are ready to measure in the living room and I am taking care of chores prior to having fun.

I got a good chance to listen to the FR125S raw in the box and with Vikash's pair of notch filters installed. Frankly, I didn't think much of it without the filters. With filters in, it sounded lots better BUT!!! you are correct on the high frequency response...cymbals very obviously don't have their top end and the entire thing sounds a bit dull. For me, it is tough to judge a speak without it in a box, and my prior driver-only listens didn't tell me a lot. In-box did.

It'll be nice to have the quantitative SPL measurements to look at today.

    Cheers / Robert
