Default What speakers are on the 2009 catalog cover?

I just got the 2009 catalog and am curious for more information about the speakers on the cover. It looks like a DIY project but I don't see it mentioned anywhere on the site. You can see a small pic here if you don't have the catalog: http://www.parts-express.com/catalog/catalog.cfm

Anyone know what these are? It looks like a pretty sophisticated project with a ~15" woofer in the base, an odd dipole midrange/tweeter, and some mystery box on top.

That is Dan N.'s omni speaker. Congrats Dan!

And yes they sound as good as they look. Heard them at Dayton DIY.

Yeah- Jed's right. If you look at the page inside thecover, it says at the bottom who made them. "dlneubec" or Dan Neubecker made them. They are a hybrid-omni speaker, with the RS28, omni-RS150 midbasses, and a tapered TL RSS265HF 10" sub. He calls them his "HOSS" project.

IMO, they are Dan's best work thus far, and I've heard them about 4 times now. The catalog precludes the writeup for the project on line, so it's probably almost ready to be posted to the showcase.
