Default 2 speakers to get loud off 10-15 watts?

I was looking for recommendations for 2 speakers that could produce loud vocals off only about 10-15 watts (if that is possible). Thanks alot.

Just vocals? How accurate do you need to be? Any number of 6-8" pro audio drivers will get pretty loud on 10-15 watts, for relatively cheap.

How loud are you talking? The aurasound ns4s in a nice ported enclosure as recommended buy maidsound will boogie and produce room filling sound full range, though I woudl recommend some ns3s or something to pick up the top end

Not very many Tang Band speakers will get very loud on 10-15 watts.

    Loud vocals in a car?

    Weird parameters.

What are you listening to? Books on tape? Presidential speeches?

Yeah, Presidential speeches rock. I like'em delivered loud as hell. I got some old Nixon on vynl. The cd is ok but does reveal limitations of the source tape.

    No, but this one will.http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-852

It's a 6-1/2" woofer. You would still need to mount your own tweeter for the highs and use some type of crossover. You won't get huge bass from these-probably about average for a 6-1/2". It would be best to protect your door speakers from low bass by crossing over to a sub. Also, watch the mounting depth!

It would be easier to just get a decent coaxial 6-1/2" that is an assured fit. Quality is less, but so is the difficulty. Crutchfield is helpful. Call them if you want easy.

Eminence Alpha 6 plays louder than most anything made for a car. And it comes in a 4 ohm version now for that purpose. The catch is there is NO bass.

Good call Johnny. It's really a 7" though and it's huge and deep. He might look at dremel-ing the shielding off it to make it more compact.

Another possibility might be a sealed back pro mid like the little Pyle. In that limited range it might do alright and it's pretty shallow already.

Can you give me a link to that one you are talking about? And what tweeters would you recommend?

Yeah, Cole- I'm with Pete! I actually missed your sarcastic-mug around these parts, as you always inflict so much laughter on me. It really is good to have you back!

I didn't recommend the TB 6.5... There is a link to it just above us here, by the way. Looks like this one: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-852

That would be a great driver for your purpose as well.

I would recommend buying a pre-matched component set or going for an active setup if you are looking to go 2-way here. The new Infinity Kappa series are a ~2 ohm design and offer high sensitivity with no need to worry about building a crossover. I think other manufacturers offer high sensitivity designs as well.

I don't know your skill level on DIY car audio, but mixing and matching mids and tweets can be a royal pain without measurements to build a crossover from. Better to just go active.

I have a nice crossover for sale in the classifies that would work awesome for you
