Default [Request] Jim Holt or CurtC....Mini-statements

Can one of you two, or someone else who has built one, give me a picture of the rear of the cabinet. I want to make sure I'm getting this right.

I just looked and I don't have a picture of the back of the Mini's but I do have a picture of the back of the Monitors before I sent them to Curt for crossover development. I suspect that you can find a picture of the back of the Mini's on the HT Guide in one of the build threads or post your request over there. There have been dozen's of builders so I'm sure someone has taken a picture.

Here's the picture of the Monitors:

I have no pic either, but I'll be glad to attempt to answer your question if you pose it here.

I was trying to see if you all did a flush trim cut or a rounded over on the back port.

Just considering how I am going to veneer the cabinet and deal with the back port to the mid.

(And chalk me up as another builder. I'll post pics as the project goes forward. Cabinets first, then crossover and drivers.)

No reson you can't do a roundover if you want, but the foam comes out flush with the back, and all Jim's Statements have a square edge. There is no airflow of consequence coming out of the line...

-I think Jim should come up with a T-shirt design for all of us, don'cha think?

I took pics through my build. Here is a link.
I have had mine about a year and am very happy with them.

I've been enjoying my mini-statements for about 6 months, but I keep having
the nagging feeling that I don't have the mid line foam perfect.

    Can you confirm:
Foam is 1 inch thick medium density open cell (the cheap stuff), inserted about
3/4 inch back from the mid baffle, with the front edge cut to a 45 degree angle.

    Hi Don,

If you can blow through the foam, it's the right kind. 1" thick is right also but, I'd suggest you slide it back a couple inches from the back of the driver. The Mini is sensitive to mid tunnel foam placement and a couple inches back of the driver with a 45 degree taper seems to work the best.

Try that and see what you think. How about some pictures?

I'd buy some badges for my monitors in progress :-)

Actually, I had explored name plates and can't seem to find any that wouldn't cost a fortune. It would be very cool, as would t-shirts, but could be expensive and require minimum purchases.

Oh, man, my woodworking skills are junior-high school level at best.
So many folks do great work.
Regardless, to repay my debt to you and Curt, I'll post my build soon.
