    Default Another AR6.5" project simulation....

Since Mike1234 is trying to unload a bunch of his, Gowa suggested I post another simulation he requested from me. This design has not been voiced, just modeled, and is not up for critique. It is as much or as little as it is, and that is that.

Please ignore the region from 200-500 Hz, as that is reflection-caused. I tried to keep the parts as minimal as necessary, with maintaining a good freq. response, impedance, and acoustic-phase. The layout is not intended to mimic the ZDT3.5, and should not be looked at as a clone or any such form of zaph's design. This is from the ground up; Gowa's and my design. He provided real impedance data from the drivers he has, and the AR FR graph is also from him on the intended baffle. I am not certain the RS52 will have enough presence, as I have experienced it not being enough in the past with others' implementations. The off-axis does not take away the important midrange bandwidth very strongly, so it should be alright as it looks in the design.

If you want more details, I'm sure Gowa can hook you up! So without further ado, here are what resulted from Gowa and my interactions....

    Enjoy!

WOLF... please, let's foregoe the formalities. Mike1234 was my father. I'm just Mike.

What do you think of a W-M/T-W with the AR 6.5's, TB 3" dome, and the little ND16 tweeter?

    GOWA... please chime in too.

I've not worked with the TB3, and the ND16 *can* be problematic. Also- the AR was measured on Gowa's baffle, and the graphs will not really apply to your project to make it as accurate as possible.
I am uncertain whether I can help with this,

I've been waiting until Solen gets the mids in stock so I don't have to pay the extra costs for importing. As soon as they are in stock I will give this a go. Wolf did a nice job on keeping the x-over cost down.

Gowa... what about a W-M/T-W configuration w/ the dome mid centered precisely between the woofers and the tweeter immediately above the mid??

I had to zoom in on the Meniscus photo to do a double take on the gold wrapped item!

Now that would have been funny.

Why mess with what looks like a strong design? I have a good feeling about this arrangement. Inexpensive, looks great and you have enough woofers to pull it off, if you want to or if someone purchases the ARs from you he/she could take a crack at it.

You're probably right. I just let curiousity get the best of me sometimes.
