Yet another Tritrix Build *56k warning*
Hello all.
I finally decided to do something with my 1" MDF laying around at work.
I work at an office furniture factory, operating a Komo CNC Router.
THANK YOU CNC ROUTER FOR YOUR AMAZING CUTS!
Well.
As stated. 1" MDF is used.
Thus far, I only have the basic cuts done.
Bare MDF. Not sure how I want to finish them yet.
I will update as progress continues
THe glue is messy right now. this is in it's pre-sanding phase as I have only break time at work to complete each cabinet.
this is the process
*bell*
Align , measure , glue , clamp , adjust , clamp
*bell*
lol

Went with the T-line design

I'll throw up more pictures as thing's progress!
It's awesome when a pile of scrap starts coming together!

Getting to look nice!!! One Inch MDF!! They are going to be heavy little fellers for sure. How are you going to finish them??

Good looking cabinet making skills.

I wish I had a CNC router close by. Nice work! Any reason why the tweeter offsets are on the same side for each cabinet?

That's just mean...
Hopefully he will see this before the second baffle gets glued.
Beautiful work though.

I hated to point it out, but you're right Don, It seems he has enough stock that a do over shouldn't be much of a problem. Better he find out now than later. Would it make much of a difference in SQ?

I thought imaging was better with both tweeters offset the same?
if not, a "do-over" is no problem. plenty of wood remains and final assembly has not been done.

I'm not the guy to make the imaging judgement call. I'm not sure what to listen for cuz I'm a real noob at critical listening.
I'm sure some of the other, more experienced will chime in here.
Here's a thread to get you started:

Could cut one of the baffles in two and turn the top half over and reassemble.

Re: Yet another Tritrix Build *56k warning*
This is sorta on topic about the tweeter axis. Curt mentions on his build site that for HT use listening on axis is preferred while music listening sounds better off axis. Mainly because of the brightness.
Id still redo the one baffle. The designer made it that way so swaying to much from that proven design might effect things.
I just bought the RB kit for my wife's setup upstairs. So im interested in all Tritrix builds!

Some advances.
nothing major.

GOt my speaker grill cloth, spikes, and magnets in from PE.
Crossovers are done.
Just have to make the basses (a 4" riser with spikes) and caps
Going Def Tech style

Very nice work so far! I like your crossover mounting place, why not show them off eh? Is this your first project?

Not my VERY first project.
But the first one I'm actualy taking my time on.
I built a Triune center channel about 2.5 year ago and have been very happy with it.
I've done subwoofers like everybody else. lol
And, when the grill cloth sock is in place, the XO's will be hidden.
I look forward to the final result, that's for sure.

i would think that symmetry would work in your favor here, especially if you're listening off-axis. i think you'd want them both offset to the side by the same amount from center, but in different directions.
