Usher TMM 2.5-way with 8945P/A and 9950

A couple of people built this design. The 8945P used as a midwoofer, the 8945A as a .5 woofer, and the 9950 as a HF driver. Here's a builder's listening impressions and pics I received yesterday.

One of the reasons I wanted to use these drivers was the potential for an excellent compromise between high resolution on superbly recorded material and, you know, the opposite of which I have alot. That's why when I say the Scorpions "Wind of Change" is much less horrible on your speakers it is really a compliment! On the other hand, Alan Parsons "I Robot" 24/192 HDAD sounds amazing! Further, Roger Waters "Amused to Death" (very appropriate given current economic reality) images beautifully. Charlie Haden "Night and the City" just sounds "right". Mozart Piano concerto #21 and Chopin Piano Concerto #2, both featuring Maria Pires, sound lush and engaging, the speakers just disappear.
