Has anyone gotten one of the dud Hi-Vi SD1.1 tweeters that Zaph refers to from Partsexpress?

I bought a set from PE just over a year ago (Dec. 2007) and they were the "good" ones. This was for my Hypnos project (see link below). They are decent tweeters for the money but ended up being the weakest part of that design (more details on the project page on my site). Anyway, I don't see why they would go back to selling the "bad" one, but maybe somebody who has ordered them more recently can confirm this.

In his notes, Zaph said both good and bad tweeters were bought at the same time, from two different vendors (which the bad one is labeled as PE in the link). That's what scared me.

However, it looks like your frequency response and listening impressions lines up with the good one he measured.

That seems more optimistic. Thanks!

I got a pair a few months ago and they were the "good ones." I'm pretty sure PE is no longer shipping the "bad" ones.
