Hi Everyone - long time no see. I have not done much speaker building, except for this project.
This is a solid state recreation of a spinning Leslie speaker. My pre amp splits into 6 channels, each with a VCA and a phase shifter. Each VCA and Each phase shifter is driven by a sine wave, with user adjustable frequency. the sine wave generator has equal amplitude waves, 60° apart. Hence, the sound seems to spin around the room.
The amp uses a 200VA, 20VACx2 power supply, and six LM3876 chip amps,
The speaker tower is built from six Goldwood 6.5's, I bought all 6 at the flea market for $10, total! The hexagonal column has internal dividers, it is really six separate sealed enclosures, lighlty stuffed 1/2 way up with fiberglass. I know, fiber glass not the best, but it was leftover from a remodel, same as the OSB board I used!
