Default P.E. Cabinets with removable baffle question,

I have a P.E. cabinet with the removable front baffle that attaches with screws. Do you glue the baffle to the cabinet when you're all done with putting everything together? I'd like to be able to remove the baffle so I'd rather not permanently glue it to the box but there'd be leaks because there's no gasket for a tight seal. What do you all do or suggest? I was thinking of using the P.E. speaker foam tape for the baffle seal

edit: I bought this cabinet second hand and it seems the speaker grill is attached via those P.E. 2 piece plastic male/female attachements and not neo magnets as the P.E. product info stated. Also there is the 4 male attachements on the speaker grill but there's no female plastic receptacle that goes into the screw holes. Maybe the my seller forgot to pack it or he lost it unknowingly. I do have the original speaker packing box though.

this is a very good one :

    ************************************************** ***********************************
it is 50 feet or 100 feet
    peel and stick
    thin 1/32 inch
    narrow 1/2 inch
    9 for 50 feet
    17 for 100 feet.
with this you can stick it to the baffle and stick it to the case so strip meets strip.
Let me know what the color and size is of your cabinet. I have a new never used maple one I would trade it for a beech one.
also there is a trick to make magnets work on the old style cabinet. if you don't have a beech one to trade or don't want to trade. I have the grill for the new cabinet so if you have the same size.
i will mail the new grill to you. and show you how to use it with the old cabinet. If you have a different size cabinet then I do. I have a 3/4 cu ft one. you can mod the old grill to work with magnets. if you don't want to mod it the male plastic parts insert into the hex head screw holes.. did it come with hex socket head machine screws? phil see link

The baffles are knowen as BREX! Are designed to R & R baffles for a different speaker set up in the same cabinet! Probably should'nt be glued unless you plan on leaving them as is!

I didn't find the need to glue down the baffle when I used these cabs, the fit was tight enough.

If the female receptacles are missing, they can be replaced. In fact, they have to be destroyed in order to remove the baffle. So I think the seller had to remove them.

    From the PE product description:

Note: These are the same grill guides as used in the .25 cu. ft. through 1.0 cu. ft. MTM finished speaker cabinets

1st off thank you for the responses from everyone.

Phil, I would think I got the old 1 cuft. black gloss cabinet as it got regular phillips head screws to hold down the baffle. Interesting, are you saying that I might be able to change the phillips head to the hex head bolt to use with the grill plactics studs which will fit into the hex heads? As of now the phillip screws are set deep into the baffle, so would I need some washers(those plastic tube type) to prop the hex head bolt to sit further up that screw hole?

I could with some imagination figure out a way to reengineer the speaker grille(removing the male plastic attachement and replacing with neo magnets) with neo magnets from P.E., but could you explain how you went about it? And I would also assume the hex bolt would have to be propped up near the baffles surface somehow

YOU NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT thread size then buy longer bolts and I used nylon spacers to raise them close enough for the plastic males to go into the hex hole of the bolt.

if you go the magnet route you pop the 4 male inserts and glue 4 magnets to the four new holes then use 4 magnets in the 4 female holes make sure all n and s poles are correct works well. you may still need to lift the phillips bolts with some nylon spacers. lowes should have the spacers. oh well on the cabinet swap idea.
