Was looking forward to working on crossovers tonight; order was on the truck for delivery at 6:48 this morning. Never showed. Delivered to work because I don't want my stuff sitting on the front porch, and there's always someone in receiving. We're less than a mile from two FedEx hubs at the office. We used FedEx as a business for shipping daily. WTF?

Checked tracking, now it's gonna maybe be delivered tomorrow; unless of course it spends all day on the back of a truck again. I understand corporate rate shipping costs, etc.. but as a consumer, I'd pay a few extra dollars to see the big brown truck outside. At least I know that for the past 10 years they're always knocking on the door before lunch. This is three times for me in the last 6 months.

FedEx has to make sure that they have the maximum number of screw-ups as a percentage of their total business. Its like the maximum number of rat hairs that are allowed in hot dogs by the FDA(which by the way is lower for dog food than human food).

In your case, on that day the were targeting anyone named Mark whose deliver is less than 2 miles from the warehouse, and who might possibly write up a comment in PE as well as usually writing in two paragraphs.

Seems to be that you just hit the bad luck of the moment.

I think it is all relative. United Package Smashers is much more unkind to packages that I receive than FedEx. And the USPS treats stuff better than either in my experience.

Anyway, hope you get the stuff tomorrow.

At least FedEx doesn't throw their packages down flights of stairs and drop-kick their boxes the way UPS seems to.

I worked at SGI for a little over 4 years and after they switched to FedEx from UPS to ship their CRT monitors they had a LOT less problems with the monitors needing to be returned because of problems caused by rough shipping.

Unless you use Next Day Air shipping, 2nd Day Air, or 3 Day Express, the delivery date isn't guaranteed.

In defense of these shipping services, I'm sure my time is coming. But I received lots of stuff sent by them and never received a box that has looked like it needed tape to get it back together.

There was the time that some guy sent me a electronic crossover simply wrapped in a piece of cardboard and taped with duct tape at both ends.

He was Russian, though I'm sure not part of the Russian mob.

Have not had a problem with UPS or FedEx deliveries! Both deliver at about the same time of day, but FedEx has done some quicker deliveries. No drop tests done on any pkgs.

In my neck of the woods, the FedEx Ground guy shows up around noon or so, the UPS guy at 5 or 6 in the evening.

Never had a package just not show, though...that blows, big time.

The best story I have in regards to the Fedex systematic challenge...

I ordered from a wholesaler about 2 miles from my house. The package shipped Fedex. The package went about 6 hours north and then came back about 1 week later. I don't think that was a mistake.
