Default 230 Volt sub running on 120 Volt

Hi - I am thinking of buying a used Dali subwoofer (swa 15). This runs off of 230 Volts and I will be using it in the US where its 120 Volts. Its a 350 Watt Amp RMS with 1000 Watt peak. What type of power converter do i need to run this adequately and who makes decent ones? I trust you guys more than most. thx -yurij

build your own. www.antekinc.com has a 120 to 230 trans that just needs the right plugs. the site is down right now I will post the full link later

this is 69 dollars and is the minimum for your amp. the plugs are around 10 bucks. it would step up from 115 to 230 volts.

this would be a much better deal if it is well made. I just don't know the seller.at all.

Thx for the replies. So I gather there is no issue using a converter to power the sub, i just need to get the right strength converter. Building my own looks a little too bare-bones, its just a transformer (but what else do I need?). Also, since its for a sub, I don't think I need such an audio quality transformer (low frequencies leak less?), or do i? thx -yurij

Odds are good that the existing Toroid Transformer in the amplifier can be reconfigured for 115; it's worth a look. If you've got 4 leads coming off the primary side you're set.
