4 plate amps one (2) controls?

anyone ever modified 2 or more, this case 4 sub plate amps to have just one x-over control and one volume (gain) control. the plate amps are all the same brand (cheap crap).

Are you talking about modifying the amps? It may be quite a bit of work to start tracing out the circuit boards and modding them. I think it could be done but I would be most worried about hum/noise being introduced.

Reckhorn has a couple products you could use externally.

not modifying the amps but the controls for x-over and volume. i would remove the controls and replace the 8 (4 & 4), with 2 (1 & 1). reason being so 4 subs with 4 amps can all be controlled from a single location.

this will take 1 rca in for the sub and send 2 rca out just add 2 y splitter's. it gives volume and x-over control. If 55 shipped is too much I have a like new with a pair of y splitter's included for 45

now dumb ? time. i am guessing you just turn up the actual sub(s) plate amp volume and x-over all the way?

the reason i am doing this is i will not have easy access to the controls.

when i am done with my little experiment, i will definately post on the board - crash and burn, or that crazy idea worked out great.

yes your guess is correct. then the reckhorn has a volume and a x-over control.
