    Default NeoCD1.0

These are on sale over here and appear to be a nice deal. These have been used in a few designs including the IowaDIY 2007 Unlimited class winner - the CanTiLena by PaulK.

    Hi Todd,

That looks like an excellent buy. The downside is I suspect that they need to be crossed around 5K or so which really limits your choice of mids. How about the new round flange MDM-55?

The Madisound page recommends 3,000Hz / 2nd-Order. However, I'm thinking about mating it with the Peerless Exclusive 5.25" which look like they could get to 4K or so.

Rick crossed to the Neo1.0 at just below 5 kHz; the combination of this tweeter and the "old" MDM55 is heavenly.

Why do you say "old MDM55"? Do you know of any issues with the "new" one?

I would agree with that comment. An exceptional speaker.

    Another poster in agreement.

As to the 'issues'; no. The newer round-face- rather 'Parts Express exclusive' version is supposed to be the same unit.
Paul just used the old square-faced mid-dome, the MDM-55.

Not at all. The new one appears to be just like the old one other than the mounting flange being round and easier to accommodate when recessing it into a baffle.
