Vifa ox20sc or Dayton nd20fb?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently choosing drivers for my first "proper" DIY project.

I've narrowed the choice down to four drivers (2 of tweeter and woofer), but I will consider the suitability of other drivers if they are so much better.
They will be for a small desktop "mini-monitor" system.

The drivers in question are:

Dayton nd20fb (PE)
Vifa ox20sc (PE)

Dayton rs100-4 (PE)
Fountek fr88-ex (Madisound)

I would prefer 4'' or less for the woofers due to size and lower distortion levels for the price.

Any suggestions?

The two woofers in question are different sizes and really fit different needs. I my mind, all of the drivers are excellent and you can hardly go wrong. I fear that you may be having trouble eliciting responses because the nature of your question is broad.

I imagine the FR88 would be at its best as a dedicated mid or a full range speaker. The rs100 would likely have better bass response with a clean mid.

I'd build the following unless ready with all necessary knowledge and skills to design from scratch. It seems that Brandon (augerpro) almost finished his design. Ask him yourself.
