    Default Laquer finishing

Hey you guys, I've been trying to do painted finishes on some projects and am having issues with the look. I don't have a facility to do complex paint techniques (i.e. hand rubbed laquer, etc...), so, how do I get a smooth finish with paint; and with what kind of paint (enamel, laquer, acrylic latex). Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hi,

This subject comes up on all the audio forums on a regular basis. By using the "search" feature you can bring up complete, and often lengthy, threads pertaining to the various methods of applying a painted finish.

I get the impression that you're somewhat new to speaker building, or at least applying finishes to the cabinets of speakers, so here's a jumpstart on this. Read the entire file as it covers three different, but effective methods to produce a pianoblack finish.
