There is a seam down the back. The carpet wasn't wide enough to go all the way (top, 2 sides and base), so there is an piece inserted on the base.

Nice job, it looks as good as store bought. I know what you mean, I covered a pair some years ago with that stuff. I think I could have veneered a cabinet faster! But it does look very nice when done right, as you have demonstrated.

Man, you do good work! Not that I'd ever encourage you to build rectangular, but you're clearly good at that, too.

Looks great!
No internal bracing?
Form does not follow function
Form is simultaneous to function

Thanks, they are for a small vocal PA using 15" and horn.
Using some drivers I have had in storage for several years.

Thanks,
The sides have the handle pockets, they aren't going to vibrate too much.
All other surfaces have a bit of extra wood added to the inside surface.
Thing is that this style of speaker needs to be as light as possible, because you have to lug them regularly, lift them on top of speaker stands etc. Also they don't necessarly need the lack of cabinet "noise" that one needs in hifi gear.

Very nice! What do you do that's best for grill cloth?

Re: I think I hate that grey PA carpet stuff !!!
They look great. Very professional looking.
As for the smelly adhesive, I've used a diluted wood glue for the adhesive on that carpet and it worked very well. I diluted 2 glue to 1 part water if memory serves me correct. You really had to tug hard to get it off, basically destroying the carpet.

I leave the horn open, and use a metal grill cover.
The metal grill covers are pretty good protection, and if they get to the "too damged" stage, are cheap to replace.
Pics tomorrow of the final speakers if things go to plan

Now that would make a nice video tutorial for someone to tackle.
Nice work Andy.
