Flush mount PA drivers
Hey there guys, here's my question: I'm putting together a pair of high power 3-way PA speakers, and I'm wondering if flush mounting all the drivers is really worth it like LDC 7 says it is, which I think it probably is, and so then when doing so weather or not to take off the paper gasket ring thingy from front of the woofers to make them more flat and decrease the flange depth. What do you think guys? Thanks for you help. -Jeff

No. It's barely worth it in high end hi-fi, not worth it at all with PA.

Right on Bill. Thanks for your insight!

Accoustically no it's not worth it, but depending upon the grill type and how it's mounted it could provide enough clearance to keep the woofer from buzzing against the grill.
