    Default My projects

Here are some of mine, for some reason I can't find the Center Channel that I built for my friend, but here are the rest....
    GoldBooks--Goldwood GW-S525/8 + HiVi TN25

Deuteriums--Definitive Technologies 5.25" PE Buyout + Dayton Silkie, Box alignment by Wolf, XO by Shawn A

    Audax/Tang Band Center Channel Audax AP100ZO + Tang Band 25-669SD 2.5 way

Triska sub, with odd sized box... SD215-88 DVC subwoofer + 2 SD215-PR Passive Radiators

Currently working on the Duellati, a Dayton DA115-8 + SEAS 25TAFC/D MTM. The boxes are being built and the XO is modeled, but I have to get some coin to get the parts, aside from the tweeters, which I already have.

    Enjoy!

    Mark,

I like your Goldbooks. I've always like that woofer (used it twice now).

    Very nice work.

Nice stuff, Mark. I thought I'd show a pic of the DefTech 5.25" woofers I used with an old buy-out Seas aluminum tweeter, 25TAFCD. Shawn worked up the XO for me and I came up with the ported box alignment using WinISD. About .25 ft3 net volume. I was not successful AT ALL with any of textbook XO's I tried, nor with any of the XO Pro alignments. I had quite a few very good references to compare with, so I knew how awful those algebra-derived and XO Pro XO's were. Thankfully, big Shawn said he'd do a XO if I sent him the tweeters. I sweetened the deal by including the latest hardcover copy of "Moto GP Technology" by Neil Spalding as a surprise. The SQ was light years beyond anything I tried or what XO Pro came up with. They're now on loan to a girlfriend of mine for her art studio. Some folks are just as interested in those speakers as they are her amazing artistic ability. I have 4 of those DefTech's left, so I want to try that silkie version.

I have looked at that Goldwood driver off and on for a long time. How is it to work with? The Clio files provided by Darren indicate a rough break up mode on the 7" version.

    Honestly, Johnny, I wouldn't know.

I modeled the xo in XO Pro, and did what it told me to. I've not revisited it since, but I'm sure that you're correct about the breakup. I'm also sure that I have it in WAY too small of a vented box, among a myriad of things that I did wrong out of ignorance at the time.

I'm proud of 'em because they look pretty good, and they're the first thing that I did. Beyond that, well....
