My Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 HT Sub build
Well, here are some pics of what I did thurday night since I had friday off.
With a lot of help from everyone, I decided to do a 2 cubic foot box with a 3.5" x 3.5" x 22" port for this box. It measures 16 x 16 x 22 approx. I am using the Bash 500 watt amp.
i went an unusual route with the port as you wil see in a minute
first, here are the parts off the cnc

it includes the front baffle, which is cut to let the sub mount the next layer, or sub baffle. the circle mount to the back of the sub baffle to allow the sub to mount into 1.5" wood

here is the top, bottom, sides and back together. you can see the amp cutout and the port exit

here are pics showing how i boxed in the amp. i just dont trust amps not to leak around them, so i sealed it up, then drilled a small hole for the wires to pass through
here is where it gets interesting

here you can see the beginnings of the port. If i would do it again, i would make the bottom of the box one side of the port.
you can see the port comes in, then turns 90 degrees, using the amp enclosure as one side of the port

this shows that section closed in. Now you can see the port turing another 90 degrees toward the front of the box

this now shows the port going uo, so thats another 90 degree turn, and it used the amp enclosure as one side of the port again, as well as the side of the box
Im sure this affect port tuning, haing it on the outside wall and turning so much, but since this was an experiment, i figured it was worth it to try

here is a pic showing the brace.
Ill run inside and get some pics of the finished product, as i forgot to take any

Love the brace, Nik...
It should be your new logo.

^^Dittox2?
Also, do you have enough room in front of the port? Looks like a 3"x3" port. I'd make sure to leave about 4" of space back there...
That is awesome work.

nice. i bet a "brace" on the baffle with rounded over edges and painted a different color would look very cool.

Re: My Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 HT Sub build
its very tight and very musical. I hope as it brakes in it will go a little lower, as i bet ts f3 is in the low 30's right now, but it a brand new stiff sub, so it should free up some.
i could have done a front port, but I plan on doing a grill on the front and veneering the whole thing, so i did not want a square port in the front
I did some test tones and there is major port noise at 24 hrz, but that was with the gain most the way up, but i was ust testing it so see how low it would go

I figured you would have some vent compression with the vent only 3.5 x 3.5. What is the anticipated vent velocity based upon your modeling at full power input?
Make sure the vent is at least 3.5" from any flat perpendicular surfaces as you may choke it off some as well. In other words don't put it too close to the wall.
Nice job though! I too like the brace.

im glad everyone like the brace. I simply took the circle fo the magnet to fith throu, then drew some lines, offset them several inches, rounded the corners and walla. It seriously look 45 seconds to draw.

It's pretty, but somewhat missing the point of bracing. You could cut the entire middle out of that brace and not reduce it's effectiveness. The ribs along the sides help, but the crossbracing should land somewhere near the middle of the panel, not necessarily the corners.
