mobile dj mixer question

Just rethinking things and want some suggestions.

i'm not looking to invest a ton of money into changing over to a active setup just yet. so using what I have.. spending as little as possible.. what would you suggest to this question.

equipment:
2 3-way passive crossover speakers (2x15, 2x5.5, 1 4x10 in each) - sound decent

1 mackie powered 18" subwoofer (swa1801z)

laptop --> mixer --> XLR main out --> crown xls-602 --> 3-way speakers
------------------> rca out on one channel (zone maybe) to my powered sub

I have 2 subs that I'd like to add to special events when I just need a little more bass then anything else and a spare xls amp sitting around. The subs aren't powered, but have passive crossovers installed.

Could I do this?

laptop --> mixer --> line out (zone) --> splitter --> 2nd amp --> subs
------------------------------------------------> mackie powered sub

I'd like to spend no money at all if possible.. but if I have to I will.

Also.. lets say down the road I want to ditch the 3way speakers and go to a active crossover setup. using the mobile dj mentality (portability) and the 2 amps I already have.. basically I just need to buy a 3rd amp and a decent active crossover setup correct? anything else a must have for this setup?

Yeah you need a splitter(Y cable), any pro amp worth buying has both XLR and 1/4 TRS input jacks that can be used to daisychain amplifiers, but not those cheap Crown amps.
