Default Series resistor before Vs. series resistor after?

Working in PCD on the cranberry lambic's crossover's I'm playing with moving the .5 ohm resistor from R15 after crossover to R10 before crossover. I'm not seeing much of a change in the tweeters frequency response going with either configuration.

What I do see is my is my output ZMA results being increased by .5 ohms for the tweeter which I'm considering as a possitive thing. This would get my lowest tweeter ohm load to 2.8 and improves the tweeters impedence phase.

From a listening standpoint is there anything wrong with moving the the resistor over? From what I've read my impression is the ohm load on the reciever from the tweeter isn't as important as the woofer's ohm load but it's something I'm contemplating trying out.

    Thanks for the advice
    Jay

Granted, there is generally less acoustic energy at higher frequencies, but it is still an important design objective to provide the amplifier with a reasonable load impedance. I often put the attenuation resistor in front of the tweeter network, or a combination of before and after to obtain my design goals.

Curt without too much of a change I can get the tweeters ohm load to ~4 ohms (low dip to 3.5 @ 7500 hz) is this too much to ask from a 6 ohm reciever driving speakers with a 90ish sensitivity?

    Thanks

If the impedance only drops a bit over a limited range, I doubt the amp would even notice it. There's not a lot of power being delivered up there.

    I agree with Pete.

3.5 ohms at 7500 Hz will be a non-issue under normal conditions. (Assuming the phase is +/- 30 degrees or so.)
