Dust cap repair
I just got an Energy XL-S12 subwoofer. (free) The dust cap is pushed in. I was wondering if there is a way to repair it without replacing it. I was going to poke a pin hole in it then use a paper clip to pull it back out. I guess I would use some sort of glue to fill in the little hole. Any recomendations?

Your method has worked for some. Another one is to try sucking it out with a vacuum cleaner.

Re: Dust cap repair
If the woofer has a vented pole piece, put your lips over it and blow enough air up there to pop the dust cap out. Works if the dust cap is not very porous.

Re: Dust cap repair
And if you can't develop enough pressure by blowing up the vent hole, then try using some duct tape, make a little "handle" by folding the center of a length on to itself, and then put the tails on the center of the cap, and gently pull.

The bulb from a turkey baster often works.

I had a similar problem with a few dust caps quite a while ago, here is what I did http://techtalk.parts-express.com/sh...d.php?t=212251

Re: Dust cap repair
These are all good ideas, but don't discount the vacuum cleaner idea.
The vacuum cleaner suggestion might seem like a bad idea, because of too much suction, but remember that most household vacs have an opening in the side of the wand, which is sealed, wide open or anything in between--adjusted by rotating a plastic ring to reveal more or less of the hole.
This adjustment is for controlling the amount of suction at the end of the wand. Obviously, you would want less suction while removing dust from your curtains--or while attempting to pull a pushed-in dust cap back out.
