The performance above 3000Hz looks very nice. Distortion is quite low and response pretty smooth.

    Thanks for posting that data.

I am impressed with horizontal off axis of 3.0. But yeah, I think CD 3 is a new find for me and will provide for a couple of good ribbon designs. The 3.5H is good to but not as good as 3.0.

Actually you can also get a 4 inch woofer to reach 3500. Look at the B4n, TB titanium and bamboo drivers.
I have a couple Jordan 92s laying around and also going to build Dayton RS150 2.5 for a friend. So, that 2.5 may become 3.5 with 4 rs150 per side, and couple of dome mids with 3.5H in the center. BBMTMBB.

[QUOTE=r-carpenter;1647369]I The question really is, what can you use it with?
Dome mid range or a 3" woofer with linear response extending in to 3500hz area?
          I/QUOTE]

Given the high sensitivity, i'd pair it with a Fostex 4" fullrange as a mid crossed to the woofer section in the 5-600hz range.

Sounds like good plans ... they'd be a nice match for the Jordans or dome mids. Best use of them looks to be crossed at 3.5khz or slightly higher.

              Did you use the 3.5?

I wonder how it is without the horn.

I wonder if some foam could improve it, or, if we can find some other tweaks.

Is the magnet or ribbon in the 3.5 different from the 3.0? I wonder if it's just the metal faceplate that changes the cost, or, is it something else?

I'm thinking of getting some 3.5H and taking off the waveguides...

Either way, I'm thinking they might be an excellent match to the Discovery 15M Midrange:

                Re: Fountek NeoCd3.5H Horn Tweeter

haven't used 3.5 yet. In the next project.... Was thinking about dedicated Eton mids, may be another BMTMB.
Magnets on 3.0 and 3.5 look exactly the same. Not even sure why 3.5 cost less. I'd imagine a nice waveguide is more costly to make then a flat faceplate.
I can't start playing with 3.5 now, meaning taking the horn off and measuring, but perhaps in a month or so if you have patience. But if you start on it, I'd be very interested in seeing the results.

I have the Fountek 3.5 and 3.0 tweeters but not Etons. Haven't purchased them yet and not sure if I will. Just an idea and something to drool over...........

Wish I still lived in Brooklyn... I've been thinking about those 3.5H tweeters again - I don't know if I might need to crossover just a little below 3.5Khz though...
