    Default new design

    it seems i have these boxes to work with.they measure 39.5/8x75/8x83/8 h/w/d. mtm with one vifa dx25, http://www.parts-express.com/pdf/264-1020s.pdf, and two silverflute w14rc25-8 in parallel, http://www.madisound.com/store/produ...roducts_id=842
    using wb&cd i used 39.6x7.6x8.4 for 25L with a 3x11 port to get;
    fb 40hz
    f3 40.5
    f6 37
    with 20 watts i got these

    as you can see these have no back so i have options. could i do somthing like curt and wayne did with the tritrix? would i even need to? other thoughts are welcome.

    These have potential!

    IIRC Dirk used a pair of the Silver Flutes in his recent design, but not in a TL. Love the finish so far. How are you finishing the baffle?

    Good Luck!

    yes i think they have potential too. these were left at my house over a year ago. i could make a new baffel from some hardwood to match or contrast, or make a mdf back and inset it. looking for suggestions.

    Surface mount the drivers in that baffle. Add 1/8" baltic or poplar as an overlay lamination to "recess" your drivers. You can even piece it together.

    I've also used "craft foam" sheets. They come in a variety of colors, so you could let your creative side go wild.

    Wish somebody would leave something like that at my house!

    I think those will sound (and look) great. I have used the W14s (in Zaph's old design) and currently have the W17s paired with an old SEAS buyout in an MT at work. Mad LEAP crossover design with little BSC...yep, Zaph's sounded better! You've seen Undefiniton's Orient Express?

    Yea..the only thing people leave at my house is a mess!
    I'm surprised we don't see more designs with the SF's, especially the W17RC38-08 6-1/2".

    i first became aware of it when wolf mentioned it. the wool cone caught my eye. of course, now that i like it, it will probably go out of production like the north tweeter. i was almost going to use the discounted sb tweeter. then i saw this one. a few days later it was dotd. must be an good omen.
