Default What is the actual range of a 6.5" cone

I mean in a real life situation and in a cabinet that is a functional size. What should the expected range of a 6.5" cone be? Assuming also of decent quality.

Perhaps 80 to 2kHz. But there are many variables, too many to make a blanket assessment based only on driver diameter.

I agree with Bill - not really a question that can be answered with a valuable response of anything but another question.

Take the Exodus and Anarchy 6.5 drivers over at DIYCable.com. They get down to the 40-45Hz range pretty well.

Then take a Fostex, TangBand, or even this new Dayton (below). They can extend far past 2K and some use them as full range. Can you? Yes. Should you?

I think the general consensus is that a 6.5" driver past the 1500-2000Hz range will beam and you are getting into typical cone breakup regions.
