Should You Build the Overnight Sensation MTM?
Yes. Yes you should.

These are phenomenal little/big speakers. Mr. Carmody knows what my ears like to hear! I was hoping that these could be used as near field monitors for my computer, and yet have the guts to fill the house with sound if I commanded. I'm happy to say that they don't disappoint. Terrific low frequency extension, not too muddy, not too bright, crisp, yet as smooth as a gravy sandwich. They're a real pleasure to listen to. Now my amp officially has friends.

Now what am I supposed to do? Oh right.... the girlfriend needs a PC setup. *cracking knuckles* What a hobby.

Oh my gawd, freaking gorgeous! I can only dream of building something like that someday.
Um, excuse me sir, but do you have XP running on that machine? But I also see a silver menu bar at the top If so, that would be awesome. I love and appreciate Apple's hardware, but no so much their software.

Might be running it in a virtual machine.

I'm running Parallels 6 and Windows XP. Pretty seemless.

Gee, I wonder if this is going to make it onto the undefintion site...
Very, very nice. I really like the textured baffle. And the color of the Sapele really compliments the driver color, or vice versa.

I am definitely going to steal some or your ideas. WOW..... I will definately have to build some ONS but this is an impossible act to follow. Is the rubbery 3M undercoat good to work with?

Wow!! I love the look of those. That's a much cooler look than 80% of the commercial offerings out there. They have a sophisticated style without taking it too far. Great job!

Mark,
The 3M brand undercoat isn't really all that bad to work with IMO. It lays down nice and thick, so you don't have to put a huge amount of work into surface prep. The only downside is that it takes two or three days to truly cure out. Once it's really cured, it's really not all that rubbery. Afterwards, you can even paint it with a matte black spray paint to soften the texture a bit.

Very nice. I've followed you build threads with a great deal of interest. Your design and execution is truly inspiring.
I recently completed a pair of the OS TM and am really enjoying some great sound from such a small speaker. One difference though, mine are rectangluar boxes with a raw MDF finish. I admit, your's look a little better!
