Default Possible to get cheaper shipping with PE?

I remember in the past someone saying there was a way to get small items shipped cheaper with PE. Is this still possible?

My father in-law finally got an HDTV for Christmas and can now take advantage of the HD capabilities of his satellite tuner and PS3. I told him I would order him some HDMI cables and have them shipped to him so he wouldn't have to worry about getting them as he knows very little about electronics and computers. I put 2 of the 3m HDMI cables in a cart for $12 and PE wants over $9 to ship them from SW to NE Ohio. I love giving PE business and don't want to go somewhere else but $10.50 for each cable, shipped, is pretty steep.

I ordered 3 Mediabridge 1.4a cables from amazon.com for $29.99 shipped. Very nice cables, better than most I've seen before.

I got a bunch of XO parts (sans coils) sent to WI in one of those tiny-bubble lined bags last year for about 4 bucks, but I'm pretty sure that's how it came up when I checked out.

Call your order in and discuss with sales rep. My current order got fedex ground for $4.95. Large order. I remember a deal like Chris Roemer said, but that was a while back.

The way to get inexpensive shipping is to use the U.S. Postal Service, and not FedEx. This will only work with small, light weight packages.

My quote was with USPS. FedEx was $1 more.

Call in your order and specifiy that you want 'best rate' delivery. That gang they have there will calculate it out to ensure it's shipped as inexpensively as possible.

Exactly so. I just checked an item already in my PE shopping cart (but not yet ordered) and found the same item, same price, from PE, for $8 less shipping when ordered through Amazon.

    I owe you a tall cold one . . .
