    Default Thanks to LouC

His earlier post regarding the Rockwell Jawhorse caught my eye. Just before Xmas I saw that Home Depot/Rigid had their version (I can't tell the difference) for $139. Santa was nice enough to bring it to me & I can't believe how much I have used it already. Thanks LouC!!

Gee, I saw the topic heading and started looking for a check

That is one seriously cool tool, you'll find dozens of uses down the road.

I also bought a Jawhorse based on LouC'c post. I bought mine locally for about $180, but I think Amazon with free shipping is less. Worth every penny. More sturdy and faster than the B&D work bench I used to use. I find it particularly useful in routing rebate and driver holes. Thanks.

Thats pretty cool. How stable is it by just using one while routing those recesses and driver holes? I imagine a longer piece of wood might be troublesome?

I might have to snag one of those

Basic physics apply for leverage and center of gravity, but I had no problem routing a 40" baffle in one setup. The only problem I ever had was crushing a baffle in the vise, when the holes were extremely close to the edges.

I have used it crosscut full sheets of plywood -- with the longer optional jaw.

The baffle in the pic I posted is 48" long X 14.5" X 1.25" for 3 subs. I was able to cut the outer 2 with the baffle mounted in the middle. When cutting the middle hole, I supported it with a roller stand just to be safe.
