    Default another overnight sensation

i bought these inclosures from nick last summer and with the hivi 4" being on sale figured what the heck.
the boxes are 1/2" mdf with bubinga veneer.
used some 1.2mh coils that i had. they measured 1.5 and i wound them down to 1.1mh. the .35mh coils that i got measured .42mh, so i wound them down too. i already had one of the nd20fa-6 tweeters that i picked up in the showroom for $2.50.
they sound very nice. i hope the mids will be more clear after a breakin period.

Even if you just veneer or paint the cabs. I like seeing your work. These are classy.

it is a lcr meter. thanks for the kudos but the boxes were made by Nick Brewer on his
CNC machine. i had to open up the through-hole a little for the tweeters but otherwise everything was fine.
i bet nick will be happy to see i have finally put them to use.
its a fine design by paul. ill bet the mtm is well worth the effort now with the drivers on sale.

From what I know of the OS, you will like them as near field monitors. Give them a few more days to break in before spending money on a new soundcard. I have used up to a $99 sound card (some Asus thing) and still go back to the DAC built into my cheapa$$ Sony HTiB receiver. Hook up an optical cable and bam! I have an amplifier that will also do bass management for me

yes unfortunately. I had a computer with xp on it, it was a frankenstein design that i pieced together from a couple of comps I found/received. After I bought my wife a $1000 cello, I desided it was time for a good laptop.

Win7 is probably a much better choice, I hear there is little to no post-processing on the audio signal.
