    Default line-array anyone?

What do you guys think of a line array with maybe 16 or so of these little guys per speaker. http://www.apexjr.com/speakerstuff.html for 5 bucks apiece and made in Denmark how can you go wrong? 3/4 inch tweeter too and all neo mags

The problems come with the spacing of the tweeters. If you could separate them and mount them in their own little line next to the woofers, the results would be much better.

Go back and read the original post, he mentions "made in Denmark and 3/4 inch tweeter" so he must be talking about the coaxials.
Maybe they are giving him a quantity price break.

Like Pete said, tweeter spacing is problematic (not good). If you could figure out a way to fill in between with additional tweeters. . . .

Get/make some phase plugs and you're all set.

The wide tweeter spacing would demand a fairly long minimum listening distance.

for $4 each, these might be a good alternative. johnnyrichards and Lou C both used them and thought they had pretty good wide-range performance. match them up with a couple good tweeters in the center of the line of a line of cheap tweeters next to the woofers.

    John,

I saw your reference to this driver at ApexJr:

I have eight of them. The listing is correct, these are good for an MTM system. I measured the T/S specs for a few of the ones I purchased and found them to be dead on to what is listed on ApexJr's web site:
    Fs 58.48, Vas 20.05 l, Qts 0.8872, Qes 1.1012, Qms 4.5655, Re 14.88 ohms, Rm 0.739 ohms, Le 0.2540 mH, Spl 87.45 dB @ 1W/1M, cone area 0.0133m^2

There is one limitation however. The driver Q and Fs are high enough, and Vas not low, so that response falls off below about 100Hz. If you added a (sub)woofer and a tweeter, you could make a 3-way WMTM high output system.

Just thought I would throw that out there, in case these caught anyone's eye. They are a steal at $5 each.
