    Default taming the dayton dc25t-8

is it possible to make this tweeter sound good? has a heck of a top end. on a side note, i wish dayton would make a 'da' aluminum dome tweeter.
    what do you think?

I was just modeling that up the other day.

How you handle this depends on your target sensitivity and crossover point.

It will provide nearly 95dB/2.83V from 3000Hz and up with a very simple 2nd order HP.

But if you're after a more "normal" sensitivity, say, 90dB, start with zobel network of 2.2uF and 4 Ohm on the tweeter.
On the input HP, a series RC of 10 uF and 2.2 Ohm,
    and shunt L of .2mH 20ga.

    That should give a 2500Hz LR4 slope at 90dB.

Just bump the padding resistor up some more, to maybe 4.7 Ohm and you'd be about there.

I can't imagine them sounding terrible in this application. Most of what you hear in a tweeter is smoothness of response, and properly EQ'd, this tweeter is actually pretty smooth. Just don't push it any lower than 2500Hz and I think you'd be fine with its sound.

thank you. my thoughts are to cross to the da115. i would think 3000 or so would work well.
