    Default G3 Build

I thought I would just through these out there as at least the copper pair will be at MWAF. I had wished they would be future along by now but, the copper and a couple of other turning issues have held things up a bit.
These are the G3 bodies (13 to 18 liters and 7” drivers). The two that are turned are poplar and will be covered, one in copper and the other in leather. The parts they are sitting on will be a stained version.

The copper covering hinged on being able to spin the front hemisphere and the horn. After six tries and watching many youtube vids, I finally think I’ve got the hang of it. They were certainly not as easy and way not as cheap as I had first figured. There are photos of all of the attempts at:http://s818.photobucket.com/albums/z...ning%20Copper/

Can you guess which woofer will be going in this pair? I haven’t decided whether to go with the Illuminator ring radiator or the 6600 air circ. On the one hand the Illuminator lends itself to a better housing shape with better diffraction properties while the 6600 would be well, just better except for the dip I get on axis at the face plate edge. It’s pretty much gone at 5deg. I would like to hear a subjective comparison of the two if anyone has one.

    Thanks
    David

Oh yea, it will be the Seas W18EX-001.

Looked at the pictures and that looks like an expensive mess up.

But looks like you figured it and they look interesting. It will nice to see the finished speaker, your other ones looked really nice.
    Thanks ,
    JB

I think I figured out why Wolf heard the hand off,

A bit hot. This is what was heard at MWAF and this was after padding the tweeters being that the crickets in ELO's "Jungle" nearly bored a hole in my scull. The last measurement in the photobucket album shows a bit more padding. More work to do.

This is my first go a Soundeasy and I have posted many more measurments at http://s818.photobucket.com/albums/z...0Measurements/ .
    Any insight would be appriciated.

get rid of "Phase" in FR window. It just messes things up. You only need to work with "phase" while measuring individual drivers and calculating absolute not relative phase through HBT.
It looks from the pictures that you are not setting a Mic distance in the impulse window. Unless it's all "near field"? Also, you only need long MLS length then measuring lower frequency. For the tweeter shorter length would be fine.

Thanks for the info. I hope to get back to testing mid next week. As for the long window, I was just playing. Got to see what happens.
