    Default RM modeling question

Just wondering how I would go about modeling a midrange tunnel like that used in the Statements in Jeff Bagby's Response Modeler?

Will the contribution from the open back be small enough that I can just model the midrange ignoring the open back contribution, and then voice it from there or is it significant enough that I will have to be addressed in the XO from the get go?

Curt posted an FR plot for the Statements without the boost from the dipolar channel, as you can't measure the boosted effect with mics very well. It's a broadly BBC'd FR plot, and the dipolar radiation fills it in back to flat.

So really, you can't measure it, you can't PCD model it- use your ears.

    Thanks for pointing that out!

I'm contemplating a project similar in build to the Statements, so would a prudent strategy be to model for that wide BBC dip and use my ears from there?

I suppose that would be a start, and look at the plot on Curt's site. Another one would be the open-back BG TM with 8 and 3 on LouC's pages. That's another example of the same phenomena, and could give a 2 point basis to triangulate what you require. I would also look at Paul Carmody's Sunflower Redux and such, as he's also done a few.
