Recommendations on test setup

Hi everyone,

Starting a thread to see what you use for testing the results of your speaker builds, test to tweak crossover designs, etc...

Specifically:
Computer?
Sound card?
Software?
Microphone?
Other?

Do you test in a room, outdoors, where/how do you get the best most consistent results?

I'm looking to setup my own testing rig and would be honored to glean information from you so I do it right the first time. THANK YOU!!!

I just ordered the CSL EMM 6 with the intention of learning the things you are asking about. I can't offer much, but I'm going to listen in.

I think TrueRTA is a popular one for real time analysis. With this thread as a good intro.

And REW for EQing subs.

As for sound card, I have an M-Audio Firewire Solo which should suffice with it's I/O's and 48v phantom power.
