BoomCases Look Like Fun
I have been working on making one of these and I stumble on this page:
http://blog.theboomcase.com/
These guys got it all figured out.
I hope my prototype sounds ok.

Man, that is SO cool!
I might have to visit a thrift store for some old luggage.

I see those old Samsonite suitcases and lunchboxes at antique shops and flea markets all the time(my wife collects antique glass and takes me along for the ride).I thought the thermos bottles for speaker enclosures was pretty cool !
Steve
Just checked the prices on those things,I think I'm in the wrong business!!!!!!!

It's a bit funny and a twist of fate: the hard, somewhat heavy characteristics of that old luggage that everyone hated, now makes them perfect for retro DIY speakers. (I'm headed to the local thrift shop now)
And concerning the price - making money on speakers is hard. Lots of great manufacturers have come and gone. I wouldn't pay $300 for one of those, but it's not unreasonable for a fun present. Certainly a better value than many of the $xx,000 speakers on the market.
