    Default Hello and Thank You

    Chicago-DIY 2011

This event was the first chance I've had in a long time to meet some of the fabulous designers and hobbyist that post their generous offerings on the TechTalk site. My confession is that I have been absorbing and observing for a very long time and have put to good use the information I have gathered. Unfortunately, I have much to learn. Happily, what I have learned has resulted in many satisfying projects.

A special thanks to Meniscus for the awesome door prize, that my daughter won. The Airborne, RT-4001, Air Striction Tweeters, I think Wolf had his eye on them but I hope to use them well.

I hope to be able to make it to more DIY gatherings in the near future. Perhaps next time with a project in tow.

Door prizes were for showing up, being there when the names were collected, and being there when the drawing happened. As nice as it is to reward just those that bring something, sharing the goodies get more people into the hobby - so... yeah.

So, the real question is, when are we going to hear the results of those tweeters!

Regarding the tweeters - I don't remember exactly where you're from (too many people from too many places) but if you need a hand with getting some measurements or whatever else and you're reasonably close, holler.

Yeah- I certainly did. Give them a good home!
Robert, right? I think her tag said something like 'Robert's Spawn'. I know I talked with you quite a bit about the BG's, so I hope that helps.

Glad to have met you as well!

I totally agree with cjd. I think it was great that the door prizes were open to everyone who showed up. I brought my speakers there to get constructive critizism. The fact that I walked away with a door prize and some free mylar caps is just an added bonus.

Sorry for the incredibly slow responses, work has been crazy. Hope to post pictures of some of the projects I've done to show where I've been. Maybe you can help guide me in giving the AMTs a good home.

I have further thoughts on the BG's issues. I'll save that for future discussion.

Bob yeah (sorry for the weird humor.)

Good question...Unfortunately as awesome as the potential for those tweeters are, they're merely being added to the list. There are several projects that need attention first.

I appreciate the offer and will most likely take advantage of your generosity.

    Thank you,

In my humble opinion, they sounded fine. (Sorry no criticism.) I already put to use the caps I got.

I'm pretty close to Milwaukee so if you ever decide you want to get rid of those tweeters I'd be happy to help you out
