    Default Infinite baffle subs.

Ok so I got some FI IB318's and wanted to put them in a ported box. What negative effect would happen to the woofers if I did that?

Not familiar with "FI IB318's". It would help us to help you if you told us their T/S parameters: Qes, Qms, Qts, Vas, Fs, Xlim, Pe, Sd, Re, Le.

I'm guessin' that these are 12" woofers?

Typically IB woofers have a Qts value near 0.7 or so. Vented boxes like drivers with a Qts in the .30's-.40's, even into the .50's - but that can be a stretch. High Qts means a very large box, hence, infinite baffle.

They can get very boomy in a vented cab.

Model them and you'll find out. In any event they're totally unsuited for pro sound use.

Not for pro just for home.

With a Qts of over .6, it should be used in a sealed cab, but looking at the other parameters, it's going to need a VERY large box (somewhere around 12 cu ft, IIRC) I would consider using them IB, or sell them for a more suitable driver for your needs.

And as Bill said, wrong forum, you may get more responses from the other main forum.
